Welsford Street between Knight Street and Fryers Street will be closed from 6.30am until 5.30pm on Sunday 10 January to allow for urgent road resurfacing and pavement works to be carried out (weather permitting).
Greater Shepparton City Council’s Director Infrastructure Steve Bowmaker said the works were being conducted on Sunday to minimise disruption.
“It is necessary to undertake these works to ensure the integrity of Welsford Street can be maintained until a reconstruction of the road planned for 2016/2017 can take place,” Mr Bowmaker said.
“We do apologise for any inconvenience caused to local residents and motorists. The contractor undertaking the works will be contacting residents and emergency services to advise them of the road closure.
“I would like to thank all residents and motorists for their patience during these works.”
RSL patrons will be able to access the venue by following traffic management controllers and signage.
