Mayor Kim O’Keeffe appointed to the 2021 Local Government Mayoral Advisory Panel

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe, has once again been appointed to the Local Government Mayoral Advisory Panel (LGMAP).

This is the second time Cr O’Keeffe has been appointed to the panel, having previously been selected during her term as Mayor in 2019.

The LGMAP is established by Minister for Local Government, The Hon Shaun Leane MP, and is aimed at providing high level advice on a range of issues which are important to local government.

A high-quality field of Mayors from across Victoria nominated for the LGMAP, with a group of just 15 making up the final panel.

Cr O’Keeffe’s appointment is with immediate effect and will cease on 20 October 2021.

The panel will meet for the first time on 21 April this year, before meeting again on 2 June, 28 July and 8 September.

Cr O’Keeffe said she was thrilled to be selected for the panel for the second time.

“I am delighted to be one of 15 Mayors from across the state to be chosen to be on the 2021 Local Government Panel,” she said.

“Being a member of the panel allows me to represent Greater Shepparton and highlight the many positive things that are happening in our region.”

Cr O’Keeffe’s appointment follows Cr Abdullah’s appointment in 2020 and provides the region another opportunity to discusses relevant matters and share future ambitions.

“Greater Shepparton should be proud to be represented on the panel once again,” Cr O’Keeffe said.

“Council is thrilled to have another opportunity to network and discuss a range of topics important to Local Government.”
