Greater Shepparton City Council staff are undertaking preparation for the refurbishment of the pond in Monash Park with works expected to be completed mid-year.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure Steve Bowmaker said “the pond isn’t lined and we had been losing large amounts of water hence why the pond has been drained for work to be undertaken.”
“Council currently is removing the existing vegetation, modifying the fountain pipework and preparing the surface for further works,” he said.
“No changes will be made to the size of the pond or the Chinese stone formations and once the tender process is completed work is expected to be completed mid-year.”
