Greater Shepparton City Council, in collaboration with the Greater Shepparton Amplify Youth Committee and in partnership with the Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District, is excited to announce the launch of a brand-new community celebration, Mosaic Festival, a vibrant celebration of the many cultures that shape our region.
Mosaic Festival will light up Victoria Park Lake on Saturday 13 September 2025 from 4.00pm to 8.00pm, transforming the lake precinct into a hub of music, dance, food and activities inspired by cultures from around the world.
This free cultural festival with a special focus on youth will feature live stage performances from multicultural musicians and dancers, hands-on workshops offering creative and cultural experiences, food trucks, and activities for all ages.
The Tom Cummins Elevated Accessible Viewing Platform will be available to ensure inclusive participation. The event will also offer free multicultural food samples, with limited supplies available, so attendees are encouraged to arrive at 4.00pm.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said Council is proud to partner with the Ethnic Council to deliver a festival that celebrates the region’s diversity.
“Greater Shepparton is home to people of over 100 ethnic backgrounds, each bringing their own unique traditions, stories and contributions to our community. This festival is a way to recognise and celebrate that, while creating a space where people can connect, learn from one another and enjoy the many different cultural experiences on offer,” he said
Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District CEO, Sam Atukorala, said the Ethnic Council is proud to partner with Council to deliver a community event that celebrates the many cultures that shape our region.
“We are proud to partner with Council to deliver the festival, also marking the Ethnic Council’s 40th anniversary of serving and supporting the multicultural communities of Greater Shepparton, and making the Mosaic Festival a fitting way to honour four decades of building belonging and inclusion,” he said.
Greater Shepparton Youth Committee Member, Batul Mgoter, said being part of the festival’s development and having the opportunity to learn new skills has been a rewarding experience.
“Our goal is to make Mosaic Festival fun, welcoming and engaging for all ages. What makes the festival so special is having all these different cultures come together like pieces of a puzzle. We want it to truly feel like the world in one place,” he said.
This event is made possible through funding from the Victorian State Government Amplify program and Shepparton’s Ethnic Council.
