New event in town alert! Live music and fun activities at Popup Hangout

Council, in partnership with the Youth Committee and the Victorian Government’s Amplify program, is launching Popup Hangout on Saturday 21 June 2025 in Shepparton CBD.
The free event will run from 10am to 2pm, offering live music, creative workshops, a reptile show, henna, face painting, origami, street art, and more.
Popup Hangout aims to activate the Maude Street precinct, providing young people and families with a fun, welcoming space to connect and explore local businesses.
Community members are encouraged to come along, enjoy the entertainment, and support local talent while experiencing everything the CBD has to offer.

Featuring a reptile show, live music, a street art workshop, henna, face painting, an origami workshop and more, this exciting event will take place at the Maude Street precinct on Saturday 21 June from 10am to 2pm.

Community members are invited to enjoy the special activities hand-picked by the Greater Shepparton Youth Committee, as well as the live family entertainment and music showcasing local talent.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, encouraged residents to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to have fun with family and friends.

"This new event concept is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, enjoy the Maude Street precinct, support local talent, and discover what the CBD has to offer," he said.

"Collaborating with the Youth Committee to deliver an event designed for young people is key to Popup Hangout. I'm really looking forward to seeing younger community members participate in the workshops or simply enjoy hanging out in the CBD."

Council’s Place Manager, Bonnie McIntosh, highlighted the event as a great opportunity for businesses in the precinct to connect with young people and local families.

"This is a wonderful chance to activate the space, encouraging young Greater Shepparton residents and families to visit the Maude Street precinct, have fun, and explore what’s on offer," she said.

"Creating spaces and events where young people feel welcome and valued is important. We are excited to collaborate with the Greater Shepparton Youth Committee to bring workshops and activities that young people will enjoy, allowing them to be creative and learn new skills."

"There will be plenty of free activities and entertainment throughout the day, including a reptile show, live music, a street art workshop, henna, temporary tattoos, an origami workshop, face painting, and a photo booth. Plus, we’ll have the famous gluten-free donuts available for purchase! So, bring your family and friends, grab a coffee from one of the fantastic cafés around the CBD and come down to the precinct."
