Local residents saw a need for a play space for the many families in the area and approached Council with the idea in 2020. It became a priority implementation item in Council’s recently completed Playspace Strategy 2021 and was completed and opened in mid-April this year.
The new play space incorporates natural elements with large rocks, a log balance beam and sandpit as well as a swing set and slide.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure Gary Randhawa said he is proud that Council could fulfil the requested and create this space for the enjoyment of families in the area.
“The residents of Oxbow Avenue petitioned Council for this play space and we’re proud to be able to deliver it to the community.
“We hope the play space will be enjoyed for years to come,” he said.
