New series of networking sessions for local creatives

Join us at the new Creative City Networking Sessions, a series of free events to energise and nurture our diverse local creative community. Connect with other creatives and artists, explore new ideas and collaborations, develop your practice and build sustainability!

The Creative City Networking Sessions offers free monthly networking events, held in various spaces around Greater Shepparton. The events are an outcome of Greater Shepparton City Council’s Creative City Strategy and have been programmed collaboratively with local creatives who will host the events.

The first session Passages, Messages and Meanings – The Creative Journey was held on August 22 at Stellar Café. It provided some fascinating insights into careers and pathways in the creative industries through the eyes and experiences of local visual artist Dr Jan Donaldson and graphic designer Renee Paola, both teachers at GOTAFE delivering Object and Graphic Design courses.

The next session on September 19, will be a deep dive into all things festivals and events in the Goulburn Valley with Jamie Lea and guests at the JL Productions and Event Hire Warehouse. On October 17, Neil Morris will talk about the work of Still Here Arts & Culture and invite local creatives into his dedicated First Nations music and production space, Yurringa Studio. The final session on November 21 at Tatura Community House, will get you thinking about ways you can be working more creatively and sustainably with visual artists and sisters, Meg and Rachel Doller.

All sessions are free, friendly and informal with a mix of listening and learning, hands on activities, and time for networking. Refreshments and light meals will also be provided.

Places are limited and registrations are essential. To register, please visit the Eventbrite site. For further information, contact Council’s Creative City Coordinator, Anita Larkin, on (03) 5832 9700.
