Nominations extended for Heritage Advisory Committee community representatives

Greater Shepparton City Council has extended the closing date for nominations from individuals interested in joining the Greater Shepparton Heritage Advisory Committee.

Nominations for the community representative positions will now close at 5pm on Friday 22 September 2023.

The Heritage Advisory Committee advises Council on cultural heritage matters from across Greater Shepparton. The Committee has representatives from 10 member historical organisations and two Councillors. It also has a minimum of two and a maximum of six community representative positions, which are voting members of the Committee appointed for a two-year term.

The community representative positions will become vacant later this month and Council is seeking members to fill these roles. These appointments will begin in October 2023 and conclude in October 2025.

Committee meetings are held on the first Monday of every month or at other times as determined by members.

Nomination forms can be lodged electronically or by hard copy, and are available on Council’s website or in the foyer of Greater Shepparton City Council’s offices at 90 Welsford Street, Shepparton.

For more information or to register your interest in joining the Committee, please contact the Building Planning and Compliance Department via phone on (03) 5832 9700 or via e-mail at council@shepparton.vic.gov.au.
