Council wishes to advise that upgrade works to the existing pedestrian crossing at the south end of Marungi Street in Shepparton, outside the Shepparton Library, will be commencing on Friday 27 February 2026.
In Summary
The works will involve upgrading the existing crossing to a raised wombat crossing, along with kerb and footpath realignment, associated drainage alterations, asphalt works and line marking. The crossing signals will remain unaltered by these works.
The works are expected to be complete by Friday 20 March 2026, weather permitting.
Council is working closely with contractors to minimise disruption and traffic management will be in place while the works are undertaken.
Access will be maintained to the Shepparton Library, Council offices, Riverlinks, and the adjacent car parking facilities, however minor disruption is anticipated. Pedestrians are asked to follow the signs to the alternative crossing point at the Marungi Street and Nixon Street roundabout.
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to be aware of the conditions and take additional care when travelling in the areas. Council would like to thank the community for their patience while the works are underway.
