Greater Shepparton City Council would like to advise of the construction of a wombat crossing on Corio Street, at the southern leg of the Fryers Street roundabout
Road works will commence on Monday 28 February with planned completion on Sunday 13 March. Works will occur between 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday, with the possibility of some weekend works.
The wombat crossing will be installed between GOTAFE and the Uniting Church to provide priority crossing for pedestrians in the busy area of the CBD. The raised crossing will allow drivers to see pedestrians more clearly and slow traffic approaching the crossing and roundabout.
Minor road closures and detours will be in place during the works.
Council asks road users to obey traffic management signage during this time. Council would like to thank road users for their patience while these works are being completed.
For further information please contact the Projects Department on 5832 9700 or email projects@shepparton.vic.gov.au.
