Contractors and Council staff have been busy at work on the Community Football Complex, drainage basin and netball courts at the Greater Shepparton Regional Sports Precinct.
The Community Football Complex (CFC) now has six turf football fields including irrigation, roads, carparks and lighting. The turf fields were inline planted with Santa Ana couch and has developed a great root base in the sand profile fields. Using this variety of turf will help the fields cope with the all year round demand.
The Greater Shepparton City Council irrigation team have installed the necessary irrigation infrastructure at the Community Football Complex.
The retardation basin has been completed and is capturing all stormwater runoff from the entire Sports Precinct and the water will be reused to irrigate the turf fields.
The netball court works are well underway, with the redevelopment involving the construction of 10 new netball courts with lighting enabling the Shepparton Netball Association to utilise 18 courts, the Shepparton Netball Association have contributed $90,000 to redevelop courts 9 and 10 to co-inside with the upgrade works.
