Greater Shepparton City Council has re-opened the COVID-19 Quick Response Grants, with this round to fund mentor activities to help business growth and sustainability in Greater Shepparton.
The grants were included as one of 29 measures in the Stage 2 Greater Shepparton Economic Response to COVID-19 Package.
The grants are available for small-to-medium sized businesses. The grants will help businesses better prepare, respond and build resilience to face the challenging situations that have arisen during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total grant pool of $20,000 is available, and Council will support projects up to a value of $300 per applicant.
Examples of what may be funded under the grants include the fee of expert consultation, business mentoring and coaching to provide advice and guidance in the areas of:
“The new round of COVID-19 Quick Response Grants will provide financial assistance to some of our local businesses that have been hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mayor Cr Seema Abdullah said.
“The grant program will support these businesses to engage professional consultation from business mentoring specialists, and gain some guidance on how to wade through the coming months.
“The mentoring will help businesses rebound, adapt to changing work practises, support reactivation and support their future planning to aid with economic recovery as a result of COVID-19.”
Applicants must use local suppliers within the Greater Shepparton region and it is expected the proposed activity will be completed within six months of funding approval.
The Quick Response Grant is open until all funds in the pool have been expended or until 1 October 2020, whichever occurs sooner.
