The Greater Shepparton… Great Things Happen Here campaign is the winner of the Special Projects category of the 2018 Local Government Professionals (LGPro) Awards for Excellence, announced at an awards ceremony held in Melbourne last night.
The awards promote and celebrate outstanding work being undertaken and delivered by individuals and teams working in local government in Victoria. There are nine award categories, with Great Things Happen Here nominated in the Special Projects Initiative – projects that are exceptional, one-off and assist the community over and above Council’s day to day activities.
The Great Things Happen Here campaign was developed by Greater Shepparton City Council in collaboration with Shepparton Show Me, and united production company Alchemy Media, with our local business community and community leaders, all coming together to drive the campaign in the best interest of the prosperity of our region.
“In celebrating all the great things that happen in Greater Shepparton, we have once again become fiercely proud of who we are – which has been one of the greatest successes of the campaign,” said Cr Kim O’Keeffe, Mayor of Greater Shepparton City Council. “The campaign showcases our local strengths, and all the reasons why Greater Shepparton is the place to build or grow a business, create a life, visit and stay.
“The campaign wouldn’t have evolved into what it is today without the support of our community including local businesses, production company Alchemy Media, Shepparton Show Me and Council. The campaign is a shining example of what can be achieved when we are all on the same page, willing to create, seize opportunities and be bold in our thinking,” said Cr O’Keeffe.
