Residents vote on new playground designs for North Growth Corridor and Windsor Park Estate

Greater Shepparton City Council recently held community feedback sessions to allow residents to vote on their favourite playground designs for the new play spaces at the North Growth Corridor in Warrumbungle Drive, off of Ford Road and Windsor Park Estate Reserve, corner of Mozart Avenue and Strauss Avenue, off of Channel Road.

Voting was fairly evenly split amongst the three designs presented for the North Growth Corridor play space on Monday 11 April, with only a few votes determining the winner. The new playground, by Safe Play Australia, features double and single slides, cyclone swing, twirler, xylophone, balance trail, climbing equipment and accessible rocker.

In contrast, there was a clear favourite of the two designs for Windsor Park Estate Reserve at the feedback session held on Thursday 7 April. The chosen design by Omnitech Playgrounds features a large double slide, a smaller slide for younger children, monkey bars and climbing equipment and swing set featuring a basket swing.

Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure Gary Randhawa was pleased that so many community members attended the event to provide their feedback.

“I’d like to thank local residents for taking the time to contribute to the future of their community.

“We will be installing the chosen playgrounds within the coming months,” he said.
