Resurfacing works are set to commence on Vaughan Street, between Wyndham and Maude Streets on Saturday 9 October, Sunday 10 October and Sunday 17 October, weather permitting.
The road will be closed to traffic during this time however pedestrian access to all businesses will remain open.
The resurfacing works were identified as part of Greater Shepparton City Council’s Capital Works Program 2021/2022 and are necessary to maintain the safety and condition of the road.
The resurfaced road will join with the newly completed road surface at the Maude Street and Vaughan Street intersection. The intersection has been recently converted from a roundabout to traffic lights as part of the Maude Street Redevelopment project.
Every effort will be made to reduce disruption to businesses and the public however the nature of the works mean they cannot be completed without closing the area to traffic.
While the works will have some impact on traffic flow, Maude Street is now open with the majority of works on the redevelopment of the area complete. This will ensure the public will have access to shops and metered parking along both sides of Maude Street in addition to privately owned parking available in the vicinity.
For further information about the works, contact the Projects Department on (03) 5832 9700 or email projects@shepparton.vic.gov.au
