Greater Shepparton City Council advises the community of upcoming roadworks scheduled at the intersection of Stewart Street and Corio Street, Shepparton from Monday 17 May to Friday 28 May, 2021 between the hours of 7am to 7pm weather permitting.
The works include the construction of a raised pedestrian (wombat) crossing on Stewart Street adjacent to the northbound lane of Corio Street to improve pedestrian safety under the Safe Travel in Local Streets program.
Thoroughfare access on Corio Street will not be interrupted. However entry/exit from Stewart Street to Corio Street will be closed for the duration of works. Commuters are asked to utilise the laneway adjacent Village Cinemas parking lot connecting Fryers Street-Steward Street as an alternative route. Access to businesses and residences adjacent to the works will be maintained.
Council requests that Motorists be aware of changed conditions and take additional care when travelling in this area during the works.
For further information, please contact Council on (03) 5832 9700.
