The new AFL Grand Final public holiday on Friday 2 October is a perfect time to head into the CBD for some shopping, lunch or entertainment.
A lot of the Maude Street Mall retail traders will open on the public holiday as will the Shepparton Marketplace, Riverside Plaza, Emerald Bank, Home Central and other shopping areas.
Greater Shepparton Mayor Dennis Patterson encouraged people to come along and enjoy the activities and support local business.
“In the Mall on Friday 2 October are the popular CBD Fun Activities. Children can be entertained from 10.30am - 2.30pm with a Pirate Super Slide, Fun House and Jumping Castle. From 11.00am - 1.00pm Enchanted Rainbow are offering Make a Pirate Shop activities,” Cr Patterson said.
“The Shepparton Agricultural Society will be handing out “Trail Bags” full of info about the Shepparton Show including maps, events, information, colouring books, giveaways.
“The Shepparton Motor Museum will also have some classic cars on display. You could win a ride in a genuine Shelby Mustang.
“This is a great opportunity for people to take advantage of the public holiday and enjoy a great day out with the family.”
In addition Riverside Plaza, Home Central and Emerald Bank will be open and have school holiday activities for the kids.
