Shepparton Sports Stadium scores big with new upgrades

Greater Shepparton City Council is pleased to share that vital renewal works have been completed at the Shepparton Sports Stadium.

Improvements included the installation of a new scoreboard, upgraded audio system and enhanced court side seating. These works improve the stadium’s accessibility and inclusivity for users and spectators while improving the overall user experience.

These upgrades also increase the stadiums capacity to host elite sporting events and higher level community competitions, boosting local economic activity.

Stadium Renewal Summary:

  • The scoreboard replacement on Court 1 meets Basketball Victoria guidelines and standards for high-level basketball, including Big V competition.
  • The renewed audio system on Courts 3 and 4 now provides emergency evacuation alerts and instructions and is compatible with the audio system on Courts 1 and 2.
  • Upgraded seating on Courts 2 and 4 improves patron comfort and increases run-off for safety.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali thanked user groups and the community for their patience during the works.

“Council is proud to deliver these upgrades, which will enhance the experience for players and spectators and support the stadium’s role as a premier sporting venue in our region,” he said.

Councillor Steven Threlfall, McEwen Ward, said the stadium is an important community asset.

“The Shepparton Sports Stadium remains central to the success of our region’s sporting and community events,” he said.
