Greater Shepparton City Council, together with Bowls Victoria are excited to officially open entries for this year’s Henselite Victorian open.
Close to 2,000 bowlers from across the state and the country are expected to participate in the weeklong event in November.
The Victorian Open offers a wonderful opportunity for bowlers right across the country to get away and experience some solid competition, while immersing themselves in all the elements that Greater Shepparton has to offer.
Bowls Victoria has a long-standing partnership with Council and an incredible 10 years of calling Shepparton home to the Victorian Open.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Councillor Shane Sali welcomes back Bowls Victoria to Shepparton after a two year hiatus.
“We are proud to be hosting the Victorian Open for Bowls Victoria, once again showcasing the many excellent facilities we have in the region which have hosted state, national and international events. These high quality sporting facilities are perfectly suited to host events for the 2026 Commonwealth Games”
“Hosting such a prestigious large scale event over an eight day period will be a big boost for our economy helping support local jobs and growth for our visitor economy injecting in excess of $1million into the community.
“It will be terrific welcoming the thousands of competitors and visitors to the event and showing them our vibrant city, with our friendly hospitality, booming dining scene and many unique attractions to explore such as the region’s heritage and history museums, local street art, the Shepparton Art Museum and Museum of Vehicle Evolution, especially the Loel Thomson Clothing Collection which resides inside the museum.”
General Manager Commercial Operations at Bowls Victoria, Andrew Haug said after two COVID-impacted years they were excited to get back to Shepparton for the tenth edition of the Victorian Open.
“Not having run the event since 2019, we are excited about the level of interest the event is already generating, together with the large number of bowlers again expected to attend the event.”
The Victorian Open will run from Friday 18 November to Friday 25 November 2022.
