Greater Shepparton City Council had a visit today from Tim Smith, Shadow Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader, Population Policy and Housing Affordability and Hon Wendy Lovell Member for Northern Victoria Region with discussions held on planning for population growth.
Council was able to reiterate the importance of faster and improved passenger rail services as a means of attracting people to live regionally while commuting to metro and other regional areas for employment opportunities.
High value exports as a key strategy in growing local economies was also discussed.
