Converge on the Goulburn will be launched this year as a two day event, showcasing Greater Shepparton’s cultural diversity on both Friday 17 and Saturday 18 March 2023 at Victoria Park Lake, Shepparton.
The festival aims to embrace, preserve and celebrate one of the region’s greatest assets, our distinct people, by bringing the community together through food, music and performances from Greater Shepparton’s Indigenous and multicultural communities.
Converge on the Goulburn will feature dynamic cultural art displays and attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the artists, or enjoy a feast of flavoursome cuisine cooked by some of our many local communities, food trucks and local businesses.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said as one of the most popular cultural events on the calendar, it was very encouraging to see the program would be held over two days.
“After almost a decade of successful events, Converge has grown beyond what we can fit into one day. Spreading the event over two days provides more options to broaden the creative programing for residents and visitors to come along, which will assist in boosting Greater Shepparton’s economic recovery after the floods.”
“Converge on the Goulburn is a truly unique festival for the region and the state, focusing on our people, culture and way of life. This is also one of the major focuses for our new destination brand, Shepparton and Goulburn Valley, so I highly encourage anyone who loves connecting with community, eating great food and having a fun time, to attend Converge on the Goulburn and seek out more amazing things to do in our region through the Shepp and GV platform,” Cr Sali said.
The much loved event is part of the Shepparton Festival program which is highly valued and anticipated by community members and visitors each year.
“We encourage you to bring your family and friends along, especially those who live outside of Greater Shepparton, and experience our proud way of life”, said Cr Sali.
