Greater Shepparton City Council, in partnership with the Undera community is reviewing the five year old Undera Community Plan and is looking for input from the Undera community.
Over the last five years many valuable projects have come to fruition under the Undera Community Development Group Inc. including a new way side toilet block, a Masterplan of the Undera Recreation Reserve; an upgrade of the netball courts; new town entrance signage; renovations to the kitchen at the recreation reserve and broadband.
The 10 small towns in the Greater Shepparton municipality each have their own community plans. A community plan identifies the vision that a small town has for their future. Priority projects derived from the vision help to shape the future and develop stronger community capacity.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Jenny Houlihan said "Council in partnership with the Undera Community Development Group Inc. would like to encourage Undera residents to fill out the survey which will be available from 11th March through to 31st March."
Residents should receive their survey in the mail and there will be extra copies available at the Undera Store, Undera Primary School or Undera Hotel. The survey is also accessible online at www.greatershepparton.com.au during the survey period.
Following the survey there will be a Community BBQ /Visioning Workshop to be held at the Undera Recreation Reserve on 2nd May 2014.
Chair of the Undera Community Development Group, Simone Elder would like to encourage all residents to have their say. "This is our chance to go together as a community and create a better future for our town."
