Use Greater Shepparton’s Christmas Instagram filter and spread the cheer

Whether it’s a snap at a family catch-up, a photo at an end of year work gathering or a selfie while out for dinner with friends, residents will be able to spread the cheer this Christmas by using the Greater Shepparton Christmas Instagram filter.

To access the filter, community members will have to find one of the many corflutes or ground decals that have been placed around the municipality.

Each of these will have QR codes on them, which, after a simple scan using their phone camera will take them to Instagram to take a photo or video with Santa.

Those wishing to use the filter will need to have the Instagram app installed on their phone, and the latest version of the app will ensure the best quality images.

“You don't need to post the photo on your Instagram account if you don't want to, you can just save it to your photos on your phone or device. However, we would love to see them,” Council Mayor Cr Kim O’Keeffe said.

“Head out, take your picture, share it and then encourage your friends to do the same to spread some Christmas cheer in Greater Shepparton. While you are out, remember to support some of our amazing local businesses with your Christmas shopping, or take a break at one of local restaurants or cafes.”
