The volunteer awards aim to recognise and thank volunteers who have contributed their time and energy to the community.
A record 39 nominations for the Volunteer Awards were received this year, highlighting the great contribution volunteers make to the Greater Shepparton community. The 2022 Award categories are:
- Young volunteer (12 to 25 years)
- Adult volunteer (26 years and over)
- Volunteer team (a group of 2 or more)
- Long serving volunteer (15 years or more)
- Pandemic response individual
- Pandemic response group/organisation
The awards ceremony will be held in person at the Eastbank Centre in Shepparton. The ceremony will also be livestreamed via Council’s website for those who wish to watch in the comfort of their own homes.
“I encourage everyone to tune in to the livestream and watch the awards ceremony to join in celebrating the amazing contribution our volunteers make,” Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe said.
“We received a record number of nominations this year and we are very happy to recognise the local faces who made a difference to our community over the past 12 months, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
