Greater Shepparton City Council invites community members to the Multi-Purpose Pavilion in Shepparton on Saturday afternoon to watch the Matildas on the big screen in their FIFA Women’s World Cup Quarter Final showdown.
A big screen will be set up inside the Multi-Purpose Pavilion at the Shepparton Showgrounds this Saturday 12 August for residents to come along, watch the action and cheer on our women in green and gold.
Entry inside the Pavilion will be available from 4pm, for a 5pm event kick off. Food trucks will be on site for attendees to purchase food and drink throughout the night. Attendees are also able to bring their own food and drinks to have a picnic inside the Pavilion. Strictly no alcohol can be consumed on site.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, encouraged community members to gather the family, bring a chair and get ready for a big night of FIFA action.
“We all know the Greater Shepparton community is soccer mad and we couldn’t be prouder of the Matildas efforts so far. We are looking forward to streaming the quarter final match on the big screen in the Multi-Purpose Pavilion for people to come together and show their support,” he said.
“Instead of watching the game at home, we encourage people to come along and cheer on the Matildas on the big screen which is sure to create an amazing atmosphere. We are looking forward to another exciting match.”
Entry to the event is free. Parking will be available at the Showgrounds for attendees, with entry via Fryers Street. For further information, contact Council on 5832 9700.
