Greater Shepparton City Council would like to thank the locals, visitors, and stallholders who made the Tatura Market such a success on Saturday 30 November.
In Summary
Originally planned for Stuart Mock Place, the market was relocated to Victory Hall due to rain and thunderstorms. The change of venue did not dampen the excitement as crowds ventured indoors, creating a lively atmosphere as people shopped for unique items ahead of Christmas.
The market offered something for everyone, from handcrafted goods and boutique items to live entertainment. The event created the perfect atmosphere, bringing families and friends together for a memorable day out and proving that even wet weather could not stop locals from exploring unique finds.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said he was pleased with the support the market received despite the weather conditions.
"The Tatura Market was a fantastic display of what makes Greater Shepparton such a special place. It was incredible to see so many locals, along with visitors from outside Greater Shepparton, come together despite the weather and support our local businesses," he said.
“These markets take an immense amount of work to organise, so it was impressive to see such a great turnout.”
Council’s Place Manager, Bonnie McIntosh, said she was appreciative of the support the market and surrounding businesses received.
“Seeing everyone enjoy the stalls and entertainment, and then continuing to explore the local shops in the surrounding area was truly special. Events like these are so important, and we look forward to continuing them in the future,” she said.
Cr Rod Schubert, Midland Ward, expressed his pride in seeing the town come alive and people witnessing what makes Tatura a special place.
“As a proud Tatura local, it was fantastic to see so many members of our community, alongside visitors from near and far, come together to support the market and local businesses. Events like these really highlight what makes our region such a great place,” he said.
Council would love to hear your feedback on the Tatura Market, which will be used to improve future events.
