Greater Shepparton City Council has adopted a series of local laws that aim to protect and enhance the community's general way of life and well-being.

Each local law is available below for browsing online, or downloading for later use.

At the 19 June 2018 Council Meeting, Councillors resolved to adopt a new revision of the "Community Living Local Law Number 1". The information on this website relating to the previous local law is in the process of being updated, and will be labelled accordingly.

Local Law #1 - Community Living

The purpose of Local Law Number 1 - Community Living is to provide for the peace, order and good government of the municipal district of the Greater Shepparton City Council.

Local Law No #2 – Procedures for Council Meetings and Common Seal

The purpose of Local Law Number 2 is to:

  • Provide a procedure for the election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor;
  • Govern the conduct of meetings of the Council and Special committee meetings;
  • Regulate the use of the common seal.
