Contract awarded for new public toilets

Greater Shepparton City Council awarded the contract to build new all accessible toilets next to Shepparton Senior Citizens building to Moretto Building.

The new building will contain two toilet compartments, a unisex wheelchair accessible toilet and an ambulant toilet. New pathways will provide easy access to the new building from both Welsford Street and Monash Park.

Council’s Manager Neighbourhoods Amanda Tingay said preliminary work will begin shortly and the project will be completed by the end of April.

“The new building will provide a modern and comfortable facility, compliant with current Australian accessibility standards,” Ms Tingay said.

“Council recognises the inconvenience caused by this project, however the community and tourists will benefit greatly from these new toilets.”

During construction pathways between Welsford Street and Monash Park will be closed.
