Greater Shepparton City Council is calling for nominations from local residents for the Greater Shepparton Positive Ageing Advisory Committee.
The committee represents people from a broad range of backgrounds and provides advice and assistance for a range of Council activities, including ways to promote positive ageing in Greater Shepparton.
There are currently two positions available on the committee which consists of up to six community members, up to two representatives of local service providers and one Councillor.
Council Director Community Kaye Thomson said there are also positions available for community representatives aged 65 and over.
“This is a great opportunity for people to actively contribute to positive changes relating to ageing in our community,” she said.
“Committee members will be elected for a nine month term, with the committee meetings occurring monthly (excluding January).
“The current committee has done a wonderful job, and it would be great to see members of it continue their contribution.”
Nominations for appointment to the committee will be received until 5.00pm Friday 20 September 2019.
Nomination forms and more information can be found on the Council’s website at www.greatershepparton.com.au or at the Council Offices, 90 Welsford Street Shepparton.
