There’s only a couple of days left to nominate yourself or someone you think has made a positive difference to women and the community for the Greater Shepparton Women’s Charter Alliance Advisory Committee (GSWCAAC) Women’s Award, with nominations closing 5.00pm 17 January 2018.
Nominations will be judged based on criteria including how the nominee made a difference to the community; particularly within the Greater Shepparton area, how the nominee has acknowledged and embraced diversity and how the nominee inspired and encouraged women.
The purpose of the Award is to recognise women who make a difference to the community in which they live and whose actions positively impact upon women within the Greater Shepparton area.
Greater Shepparton City Council Team Leader Community Strengthening Rachael Duncombe encouraged people to get their nominations in before it’s too late, so we can recognise those people and groups in our community who have made a positive difference to women’s lives.
“The GSWCAAC is aware that there is a lot of great work going on in the community that has a positive impact on women. The Committee wants to acknowledge this work and highlight the efforts of people within the community, in the hope that it will inspire others.
“If residents know someone they believe has made a difference to the community and encouraged women in Greater Shepparton I encourage them to nominate that person for the award, so that we can acknowledge and recognise these great individuals,” said Ms Duncombe.
Nomination forms and further information about the GSWCAAC Women’s Award can be found at www.greatershepparton.com.au/wcaac
Nominations forms can also be obtained at the Greater Shepparton City Council Offices, 90 Welsford Street or by contacting Council on (03) 5832 9700, or by email women@shepparton.vic.gov.au
