Marungi Street Drainage Project Update
Posted on
Friday 13th of March, 2026,
We are pleased to advise that work to upgrade the stormwater drainage network from the Marungi / Nixon Street intersection through to Knight Street Shepparton is progressing well.
Work has continued north towards Knight Street, with the northbound lane of Marungi Street remaining closed as previously advised. Upon completion of stormwater installation works along northbound Marungi Street towards the end of March, works will then enter Knight Street. Whilst the Knight Street works are situated in the westbound carriageway, the area will be operated under traffic controllers, and no closures are anticipated along Knight Street. This area of works is scheduled for the last week of March.
There have been delays to the progress due to the discovery of unknown services, wet weather and site constraints which has unfortunately extended the project completion until the end of April 2026.
As works approach properties in Marungi Street, the contractor will continue to liaise with residents to discuss how they will be able to access their property during this period. You will notice ongoing changes to parking availability along Marungi Street as works are completed, with some spaces reopening and others temporarily closed as required.
