MAGGIE
Tan & White Kelpie X
Meet Maggie (D240759)
Maggie is a sweet, timid girl looking for a patient and understanding forever home. At 5 years old, she’s still a little shy and reserved, but she has a heart full of love. Maggie will need time and patience to come out of her shell, but once she bonds with you, she’s incredibly affectionate and loyal. She enjoys curling up in your lap for cuddles and seeking reassurance from her trusted humans.
Maggie would thrive in a quiet, calm home where she can gradually build her confidence. She may be best suited as an only pet, or to a home with another very patient dog who can help guide her and show her that the world isn’t so scary. If there are other pets in the home, she will need a gentle introduction as she is very timid and cautious around other animals.
Due to her shy nature, Maggie would not be well-suited to a home with young children, as their energy and grabby hands could overwhelm her. A more peaceful environment would help her feel safe and secure. Maggie would do best in a residential or rural home with a good-sized backyard where she can play and explore at her own pace. A unit or townhouse may not be the best fit for her needs.
Maggie walks on a lead but is cautious and needs a gentle guide while out on walks. She will need ongoing training and support to help her gain confidence in new situations. With time, patience, and positive reinforcement, Maggie will become the loving and sweet companion you’ve been searching for.
If you’re looking for a calm, gentle dog with the potential for a deep bond, Maggie might just be the perfect fit for your home. If you think you can offer Maggie the time and patience she deserves please complete the online adoption questionnaire and include photos of your secure yard and fencing. Our shelter staff will be in touch if your application is successful to arrange a meet & greet!
