Greater Shepparton City Council supports the rights and aspirations of all community members regardless of their culture, faith, gender identity, biological sex characteristics, sexual orientation and linguistic diversity.
We are committed to addressing and preventing discrimination and exclusionary practices against Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer and or Questioning, Asexual or Allied (LGBTIQA+) community members to ensure a safe and inclusive community for all.
The Greater Shepparton LGBTIQA+ Advisory Committee will be responsible for informing Council future direction with progressing inclusion for LGBTIQA+ community members through Council initiatives and strategic documents.
Committee members will aim to be reflective of the diversity of Greater Shepparton’s LGBTIQA+ community and work in collaboration with Council officers to grow community practices, representation and leadership to ensure an inclusive and proactive Greater Shepparton.
The advisory committee shall comprise of ten community members as well as relevant Council Officers.
Terms of Reference
The Terms of Reference document outlines the function of the advisory committee, terms of appointment and duties of committee members. It also outlines matters of confidentiality, meetings and other regulatory items.

Express your interest
Expressions of interest to join the GS LGBTIQA+ Committee will be assessed based on the responses to the below questions. The assessment panel will consist of Council officers and representatives from community organisations.
You can express your interest to join the Committee by completing the online form below. You can also download a hardcopy of the form at the bottom of this page, which can be submitted via email to CommunityAdmin@shepparton.vic.gov.au or mailed/handed into the Council offices at 90 Wyndham Street, Shepparton.
Expressions of interest will be accepted up until 5pm on Monday 31 May 2021.
