Vehicles for Sale on Council Land

Greater Shepparton City Council will investigate any vehicle on Council land that is advertised for sale.

Under the Community Living Local Law Number 1 2018, clause 4.2, Trading of Goods or Services:

A person must not, without a permit, display a vehicle for sale on Council land.

Council's Community Rangers can investigate and may issue on-the-spot infringement notices of $200 or commence legal action if a vehicle is found to be advertised for sale on Council land.

Any vehicle found for sale on Council land will also be investigated as being abandoned or unregistered and may result in the vehicle being impounded. Please see our Abandoned Vehicles page for more information.

Report vehicles for sale

To report a vehicle for sale on Council land or a Council road, please contact Council, ensuring you provide accurate details of the vehicle make, model, colour, registration number and location. A Community Ranger will attend and investigate the situation.
