Does your child try to avoid certain situations or activities? Do you find yourself constantly dealing with your child not wanting to go to school, or fearing being separated from you? Do you feel helpless and unsure how to support your child and equip them with the tools to process their anxieties?
The Big Sister Experience has interwoven their own personal experiences with anxiety and their 14 years working with young girls into this informative and practical 75 minute workshop.
For parents whose child is presenting with varying degrees of anxiety, learn simple techniques and strategies to equip your child with the tools they need to cope with and manage their anxieties.
At the end of the evening you will walk away with a confident understanding of:
- How to spot anxiety in our children
- Why anxiety is manifesting so commonly in today’s youth
- The importance of empowering your child with tools, instead of disempowering them through avoidance
- Tips you can try with your child to teach them coping strategies
- What to say and what not to say to a child experiencing anxiety
- A new compassion and understanding of how to ensure your child lives a confident life despite the challenges of anxiety
About the Presenters
Being diagnosed with anxiety and depression herself, Bianca gives first hand insight into the struggles and irrational thoughts and fears that present through anxiety.
Being her sister, supporter and closest confidant for many years quickly taught Kritz the best ways to nurture and guide someone through their anxieties.
Both Bianca and Kritz are trained in Mental Health First Aid and all information shared in this workshop is backed with research and input from a child psychotherapist.
Together with over 14 years in the classroom and working with girls and their families in the community, Bianca and Kritz bring a wealth of knowledge to living with and working with those who suffer from anxiety, and share the practical ways we can support and empower those who experience these issues.
This workshop is for parents and educators only (no children at this event).
