Even though this show allows post war migrant's to share their stories of hardships and racism, it is a feel good performance that celebrates the role migrant's played in the construction of Australia as a multicultural nation. Many of the stories these immigrants tell, have never been heard before.
Descendants of migrant's will be especially touched, as they come to appreciate the sacrifices their elders made to find a peaceful and prosperous life for their offspring. Shepparton has a rich multicultural history and this show engages with the post war migrant's, but also those that have arrived in recent years, as it shows that Australian's have a lot to learn from their past.
The money made from the shows, is then spent on capturing more interviews with a now dwindling population of migrants that came to Australia in the 1947-1957 time frame. When these people pass, their stories will be lost forever.
