Bushfire Assistance for Wildlife - Crafternoon

RiverConnect and Animal Rescue Craft Group - Goulburn Valley invite community of all ages (kids and adults) to help make materials to send to wildlife carers in bushfire affected areas.

When:
Wednesday 21st of January, 2026, at 2:00pm to 5:00pm
Where:
Munch n Crunch Rooms, KidsTown, 7287 Midland Hwy, Mooroopna
Cost:
Free
Contact:
Emily Lange - RiverConnect Education Officer 5832 9493 or
Website:
events.humanitix.com/wildlife-craft…

Activities will include sewing, crocheting and knitting wildlife pouches, bat wraps and kangaroo masks. Call out for experienced sewers, knitters, and crocheters to join the day and those interested in helping out. Bring your sewing machine along, as well as crocheting or knitting needles.

We encourage community to bring and donate any unused fabric, sheets, doona covers or pillowcases (100% cotton or flannelette) or balls of wool so they can make their very own special gift for an injured animal. For those with limited experience there will be people on hand who can teach you how to sew or knit as well as tasks such as ironing, lining up and pinning patterns to fabric, cutting out fabric and so on.

Kirsty from Bohollow Wildlife Shelter will be dropping in at some point in the afternoon with a furry friend from the shelter for volunteers to meet.

RSVP's are essential so that we can coordinate space, machines and materials! Please let us know you’re coming and what your bringing via Humanitix https://events.humanitix.com/wildlife-crafternoon or call RiverConnect on 5832 9493 or email riverconnect@shepparton.vic.gov.au
