Dhurringile Primary School Centenary

Dhurringile Primary School will be celebrating its Centenary in 2017.

The school opened on February 5th 1917 and we will be having our celebration on the weekend of March 17th and 18th.

At this stage we are planning an historical display of photographs and artefacts, including the work of current students, who will be researching past students and the history of the school.

On the Friday evening a movie night will be held in the school grounds, and we are aiming to have some market stalls and rides for children.

There will be a sit down dinner on the Saturday evening at the Dhurringile Community Hall. At this stage there is also an intention to unveil a stone marker on the corner of Dhurringile and Langham Roads, where the current memorial trees are planted, to commemorate the Centenary of the school and of the 1917 World War One campaigns.

Further information will be distributed as plans take shape.

The first meeting of the DPS Centenary Committee will be on Monday 17th October at 4.15pm at the school.

All interested are welcome to attend.

We are hoping that past students will be able to share photographs and stories of their school memories.
