PETstock Shepparton and Greater Shepparton City Council Animal Shelter took part in PETstock’s National Pet Adoption Day on 7 February with great success and were able to find loving homes for two dogs and five cats on the day.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Business Chris Teitzel said “This is the first time we have worked with PETstock at their Adoption Day and we were very happy with the result. It was a fantastic effort by everyone involved to ensure a number of animals found loving homes.”
“The interest in the animals was fantastic and has continued with the Animal Shelter being very busy with a number of residents still enquiring about animals available for adoption," said Mr Teitzel.
The pricing for animals that are available for rehousing is $80-$120 for cats and $290 for dogs. All animals that are purchased from the Council's Animal Shelter are vet checked, vaccinated, micro chipped and de-sexed.
PETstock Shepparton Assistant Manager Chase Wilkins said “we are so pleased to have been able to help pets in need find forever homes through our National Pet Adoption Day. Our goal was to raise awareness about pet adoption and encourage people to consider this option when thinking of adding a new member to their family”.
“Shepparton residents had the opportunity to visit PETstock to learn about the process and benefits of adopting a rescue pet, as well as meet rescue pets looking for a new forever home. Adopting allows people to find a pet most suited to their lifestyle and activity levels” said Mr Wilkins.
