Greater Shepparton sporting clubs are encouraged to apply for funding as part of the Our Sporting Future Grants program, with applications now open for Round Two of the 2022/2023 program.
The grants aim to assist community sporting organisations with the implementation of small to medium sized projects and programs. These can include training for players and staff, new equipment or facility upgrades, OHS improvements and participation programs.
Heading into its 14th year, the program provides five categories for funding, including Minor, Major, Sports Aid, Women and Girls, and Junior and Youth Participation. Round One of the 2022/2023 program saw funding awarded to eight local clubs and organisations for important works, including a lighting upgrade at Shepparton Golf Bowling Club, junior playing tops for the Shepparton Lawn Tennis Association, and a badminton coaching program for Shepp Feathers Incorporated.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, encouraged local sporting clubs to consider applying for their share of funding.
“Council are pleased to be able to offer this grant program each year to help establish and support grassroots sporting clubs across Greater Shepparton,” he said.
“Funding is available under five categories and can be put towards many different programs or upgrades. It is a worthwhile funding program and I encourage any eligible clubs or organisations to apply.”
Applications open today, Monday 12 December 2022, and close Monday 27 February 2023. For more information and to apply, visit Council’s Grants & Funding page.
