Changes to Council services and facilities during COVID-19 lockdown

Greater Shepparton City Council is monitoring and responding to State Government requirements in the management of the current COVID-19 outbreak in Greater Shepparton.

Due to the state-wide lockdown currently in place, several of Council’s services and facilities are either closed or operating with restrictions. These arrangements are expected to remain in place until 11:59pm on Thursday 2 September 2021, or unless further direction is given by the State Government.

Closed Facilities

  • Animal Shelter (animals are being cared for, to retrieve pets phone 5232 9700)
  • Aquamoves
  • Customer Service Reception – phones and email are still operating please see further information below and sharps collection is still available
  • Eastbank and Westside
  • Greater Shepparton Business Centre
  • GV Libraries
  • KidsTown
  • Parks and Recreation Reserves
  • Playgrounds
  • Resale Shop at Shepparton Resource Recovery Centre
  • Senior Citizens Facilities/Council Halls
  • Shepparton Sports Stadium
  • Skateparks
  • Tatura Park Exhibition and Events Complex
  • Greater Shepparton Visitor Centre

Operating with Restrictions

  • Encore Café (Open for takeaway only)
  • Maternal and Child Health Services
  • Saleyards

  • Australian Botanic Gardens
  • Family Day Care (only available to children of authorised workers or vulnerable children)
  • Immunisation sessions
  • Kindergartens and Long Day Care (only available for vulnerable children and children of authorised workers)
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Public Toilets
  • Resource Recovery Centres
  • Sharps disposal – collection service available (please ring the Welsford Street front door bell for assistance)

Customer Service

Council’s offices will be closed to the public until 8.15am on Friday 3 September, or unless advised otherwise. Our Customer Service team will continue to assist you via:

  • Calling 5832 9700 Monday to Friday from 8:15am to 5:00pm
  • Emailing via council@shepparton.vic.gov.au
  • Submitting a request via our website
  • Applications and payment of animal registration renewal payments, application payments, debtor recipient, infringements, licensing and rates payments via:
    • 1300 181 761; or
    • Council’s website; or
    • Via BPay, Post Office or online banking
  • New animal registrations that do not require payment (i.e., animals under six months of age) or that you are wanting to pay via cheque or money order can be dropped into our after-hours chute and once processed we will contact you.
