Greater Shepparton City Council has been contracted by Coles supermarket to monitor their three hour private carpark in Vaughan Street, Shepparton.
Coles approached Council to assist with the monitoring and enforcing of time limits in a busy commercial precinct so their shoppers are more easily able to access parking particularly during busy times of the year.
There is no fee payable for the car park however there is a three hour time limit between 9am and 5.30pm.
The private car park will now be monitored and time limits enforced by council parking officers and fines issued for exceeding the time limit.
New signage has been installed at all entrances to remind people of the three hour limit.
Council will be issuing warnings for the next two weeks with fines being issued as at 29 June 2017.
