Community feedback sought for Sustainability Victoria Detox Your Home program

Sustainability Victoria is seeking feedback from Greater Shepparton residents about the annual Detox Your Home program which is a safe, free and easy-to-use service to dispose of highly toxic, unwanted household chemicals such as solvents, poisons and cleaning products. This program is funded by Sustainability Victoria throughout the state and was last held in Shepparton on Saturday 2 September 2017.

The information obtained from the survey will guide Sustainability Victoria in determining the future of the program and how it can be improved and managed.

Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure/City Engineer Phil Hoare encouraged residents to complete the survey and have an input into how the program may be improved for residents in our region.

“Responding to this survey will assist Sustainability Victoria in understanding the need for this service in Greater Shepparton, and also help them improve its delivery in future.

Last year this event was held at the Shepparton Resource Recovery Centre with 25 residents taking advantage of the free opportunity to dispose of unwanted household chemicals.

I hope to see many submissions and residents get involved in making a difference in their community,” said Mr Hoare.

Residents can submit their feedback via the following method, input closes on Tuesday 31 January 2018:
