Community Grants applications open

Greater Shepparton events, sporting infrastructure and community strengthening, art and sustainability projects will be supported under Round 2 of Greater Shepparton City Council’s 2020/2021 Community Grants program.

Council’s Community Arts Grants, Community Matching Grants, Community Sustainability Grants, Minor and Major Event Grants and Our Sporting Future Grants all opened today, Monday 21 December, and will close on 15 February 2021.

Mayor Cr Kim O’Keeffe said Council’s community grants are a great opportunity to develop community projects and initiatives.

“As we begin to see COVID-19 restrictions ease, many of the projects or events that seemed impossible only a few months ago may now be possible,” Cr O’Keeffe said.

“We are looking forward to seeing the ideas born during the COVID-19 shutdown come to fruition through these community grants. Of course, all events and projects will still have to work within the relevant COVID-19 restrictions, and as a community we still need to be cautious and alert to the risks of the virus.

“Now more than ever there are community groups and sporting teams in our municipality that could do with a helping hand, and we are looking forward to providing that financial support.”

Any projects or events that involve gatherings must outline how they would work under the relevant COVID-19 restrictions.

Application forms and more information on all grants can be found here.

Those interested in discussing their application directly with Council’s Grants Coordinator can phone (03) 5832 9700 to make an appointment.
