Children and educators at the Arthur Dickmann Children’s Centre were invited to come to day-care/kindergarten with crazy hairstyles today as part of Crazy Hair Day.
Children in attendance gave gold coin donations to go towards the purchase of books from local businesses to be used for educational programs. Courtney from VAB Hairdressing also attended the event to create some "Crazy Hairstyles" for the children.
Greater Shepparton City Council Manager Children and Youth Services Sally Rose said this is a fun day for the children and educators which also supports the children connecting with their wider community.
“The children are able to be part of the process of raising funds, book selection and book purchase, which will also give them a better understanding of money and caring for their resources,” said Ms Rose.
Arthur Dickmann Children’s Centre offers Long Day Care, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and a Maternal and Child Health Service.
