Council advises that work on the demolition of the former Shell Service Station and café on Wyndham Street has been completed with only minor site remediation works remaining to be done.
Council engaged an experienced and licenced demolition contractor to undertake the works which have been completed. Council’s aim was to ensure that materials from the site were recycled where possible. Ninety six per cent of the demolition materials mass were recycled with the remaining four per cent (building insulation and cool room infrastructure) being sent to landfill.
