Greater Shepparton City Council’s Resilience in Recovery team is proud to present ‘Disruption’ a bold, immersive art exhibition coming to Shepparton from Saturday 18 to Friday 31 October 2025.
This innovative animated exhibition features the artwork and creativity of young locals, exploring themes of natural disasters and emergency responses through their own experiences. The exhibition will showcase a total of 37 original artworks from young people aged 12 to 25 years.
The artwork was gathered via online EOI entries and five in-person art sessions held across Greater Shepparton. The 37 pieces are now in the process of being digitised and brought to life through large-scale animated projections, created by a professional animator with major exhibition experience.
Shepparton Uniting Church, where the exhibition will take place, is set to transform into a breathtaking animated haven, where vibrant visuals and immersive audio effects will collide to create an unforgettable sensory experience. ‘Disruption’ is not just an exhibition; it’s a journey through art, sound, and emotion.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, encouraged community members to take part in this exhibition and support local talent.
“We are looking forward to seeing the creativity of young people on display and showcasing their works to the community,” he said.
Council’s Manager Emergency Management and Resilience, Belinda Conna, said the team was very eager to see this exhibition come to life.
“We’re excited for people to attend this free exhibition. ‘Disruption’ is open to everyone to attend, school bookings, and visitors will get a copy of the First 72 hours plan to take home with them and complete with their household,” she said.
This project runs alongside Greater Shepparton’s First 72 Hours campaign, which reminds us that when the unexpected happens, being prepared makes all the difference. The First 72 Hours is a collaborative initiative involving multiple councils and emergency response agencies, focused on helping people create their own emergency plan and be ready when it counts.
This activity is funded by the Australian and Victorian Governments in response to the October 2022, December 2023 and January 2024 flood and storm events which impacted Victorian communities in Greater Shepparton.
