Council resolved to endorse and release the Draft Greater Shepparton Townships Framework Plan Review 2018 (Draft Review) for public comment at the Ordinary Council Meeting (OCM) held on 20 March 2018.
The Draft Review seeks to build upon the findings and recommendations of the Greater Shepparton Housing Strategy 2011 (the GSHS). The Draft Review focuses on the nine (9) townships within the municipality that the GSHS provided framework plans for, and excludes the Shepparton, Kialla and Mooroopna urban areas.
Public consultation commenced on 26 March 2018 and was planned to conclude on 27 April 2018 (4 weeks).
Council officers attended community plan meetings at Congupna, Dookie, Katandra West, Murchison, Tallygaroopna, Tatura, Toolamba and Old Toolamba throughout the month of April 2018.
During the community plan consultation sessions it became apparent that there was a high level of interest in the Draft Review. To ensure that sufficient time is available for all stakeholders to make a submission on the Draft Review, Council has extended the submission period by an additional four weeks to end on Friday, 25 May 2018.
Upon completion of the public consultation period, Council officers will review all submissions and prepare a formal response to any concerns raised by submitters.
Council will be briefed on all concerns raised during the exhibition period before a final Draft Review is tabled for consideration at a future Ordinary Council Meeting.
Submissions can be made in writing, and should include a contact name and contact details. Submissions should clearly state the grounds on which the Draft Review is supported or opposed and indicate what changes, if any, the submitter wishes to make.
Submissions should be labelled Submission to the Draft Greater Shepparton Townships Framework Plan Review and posted to the Building and Planning Department, Greater Shepparton City Council, Locked Bag 1000, Shepparton VIC 3632. For more information, contact Council’s Strategic Planning Team on (03) 5832 9730.
