Greater Shepparton City Council, in partnership with Regional Roads Victoria (RRV), has prepared the Draft Wanganui Road and Ford Road Shepparton Feasibility Study Design Report 2018 (Draft Report). The Draft Report is an investigation study into the upgrade of Ford and Wanganui Roads to serve as a key east-west arterial route connecting Stage 1 of the Shepparton Bypass with the Shepparton Alternative Route (Grahamvale Road).
The Draft Report was released for public comment from 26 February 2018 to 23 April 2018. Following this, Council undertook further targeted consultation having contact with land owners and occupiers of land adjacent a proposed east-west arterial route.
Based on the feedback received, Council is continuing to work with GTA Consultants Pty Ltd and RRV to finalise the updated Draft Report. At the same time, RRV is completing further planning studies on the wider-Shepparton road network to help inform the ultimate design for Ford and Wanganui Roads. A critical component of these planning studies is the completion of an updated traffic model. This information will allow an updated Draft Report to be finalised later in 2019.
Once finalised, it is likely it will be recommended that Council release the updated Draft Report for further public comment. As part of this process, further targeted consultation would be undertaken with directly impacted land owners and occupiers of land. Any further consultation would likely take place later in 2019.
A copy of the Draft Report (February 2018) is available here.
