Three Fun Groups in Greater Shepparton are seeking enrolments in order to guarantee the programs will run in 2016.
Fun Group is, for many families the first chapter in your child’s early education. It provides an opportunity to become familiar with the kindergarten environment, structure and staff as well as supporting children’s adjustment to a large group setting.
The Fun Group program supports children in exploration and allows them to learn through play.
Leslie Gribble Kindergarten, Gowrie Park Kinder in Tatura and Echuca Road Kinder in Mooroopna are all seeking enrolments for 2016.
Greater Shepparton City Council’s Director Community Kaye Thomson said there are benefits to Fungroup for both children and parents.
“The benefits of a Fun Group for children include being the introduction to early education for some, familiarisation of socialising and working with large numbers of children and being given a full year of orientation into the kindergarten program, “ Ms Thomson said.
“For parents, Fun Group provides an opportunity to separate from their child in a controlled environment for short periods, an opportunity to network and become involved in the kindergarten community.”
Fun Group runs once per week in three hour blocks. Families are welcome to attend multiple Fun Groups.
To enrol in a Fun Group program, contact Council on (03) 5832 9700 or CLICK HERE to learn more about the Children's Services across Greater Shepparton.
